Breath, movement, postures and stillness are the key elements incorporated into each class. No need to turn into a pretzel to enjoy your yoga, as postures are chosen for simplicity and maximum benefit. You will be encouraged to find a comfortable expression of each posture and to allow your body time and space to open and release.
All postures are done with the control of the breath. This creates more "space" inside your body, more comfort and ease, a better functioning diaphragm, stillness and peace of mind. Each posture is held for several breaths in order to increase our flexibility, strength, endurance and balance.
For your optimum comfort and benefit we use props regularly in our classes. Blankets, belts, blocks and even chairs allow us to make minor adjustments and provide support and stability. Thus we become more aware of our present state of mind and spirit.
